The 40 Days of HOPE for San Diego County 2016 concluded on Palm Sunday, March 20th, but the awakening and resurrection power of GOD continues to spread. There were so many great testimonies, and people touched throughout the region on various levels that great HOPE and anticipation of GOD continuing to move throughout San Diego County is increasing.

Here are just a few of the testimonies.

At the core of the 40 Days of Hope was a small group of pastors/ministry leader’s meeting together at a noon prayer meeting 5 days a week. They named the place they met, the War Room because it was such a powerful time in prayer. The LORD birthed vision and prayer topics that were on HIS heart, as well as, intimate times of ministering to one another and a bonding in the SPIRIT that none of them had ever experienced before. They feel that this 40 Days of HOPE has given them breakthrough in their personal lives, churches, and in the region. We anticipate similar groups springing up across the region next year.

Every Friday night the core team held regional meetings at Crosspointe Life Church in La Mesa to encourage those participating in the fast. We celebrated with worship teams from across the region and many prayed for breakthrough in the region sharing testimonies about what God was doing throughout the 40 Days.

Around 30 churches in the mountain cities of Ramona, Julian, Pine Valley, Descanso, and Alpine, led by Jorge Nava with Just Pray Ministries, came together every Saturday in a different city for prayer and worship, asking GOD to move in the mountain cities of San Diego.

Jamie Weston from Encinitas led Activate LOVE Workshops thrusting the Body into the region to release the love of CHRIST. Everyone that attended was taken up a notch in love and good works. This also helped kick off LOVE Week during the last week of the 40 Days. This was a week dedicated to releasing the love of CHRIST throughout the region through random acts of kindness, caring for the less fortunate, loving your neighbor, giving generous tips, openly asking for prayer needs in public, sharing the gospel with the lost, among many other things.

Day Spring Christian Learning Center (Preschool/Daycare) implemented the 40 Days of HOPE prayer guide for children from the Waymakers website (waymakers.org) in their daily curriculum and saw GOD answer the children’s prayers. It also encouraged the kids knowing that they were involved with something bigger than their school, recognizing that they were joining other Churches throughout the region in unity and for GOD’s purposes. They felt that connecting the kids at their age to what GOD is doing in the region is bringing eternal changes to their young hearts.

At the Citadel San Diego in Vista, nightly meetings were held. These meetings were called The Fire and Glory Outpouring led by Joshua and Janet Mills, and Jerame and Miranda Nelson. It is reported that many have been healed, that the presence of GOD was tangibly felt in the nightly meetings, and that GOD is also touching the broken hearted and healing their emotional wounds. This meeting is still going on nightly as of this email.

There were at least 3 to 7 daily meetings all over the county during the 40 Days of HOPE, whether prayer meetings, worship events, or outreaches into the community. GOD’s people were on the move, united, praying, fasting, and loving the world. During this time there were also regional gatherings on Tuesday nights at Red Seal Ministries in Clairemont and Wednesday nights at Beach Chapel in Encinitas for those participating to be able to share what GOD was doing throughout the 40 Days.

There are so many other churches and prayer meetings we could name that were involved in the 40 Days of HOPE and others we don’t even know about because of the organic way this is being released. Please know that your involvement was significant in the eyes of the LORD and for the progress of this region.

The 40 Days of HOPE is like a Spiritual Blitzkrieg (Lightning War) that launches an air (prayer and worship) and land (love, good works, and evangelism) attack with the target being San Diego County. We recognize that our assault is against evil, and the best weapon to defeat evil is an awakened, united Church that is activated in prayer, fasting, worship, and outreach. We also believe that this is not just an event, but a catalytic project that will open up San Diego County to the Love of CHRIST. These annual 40 Days of HOPE are stepping stones in stripping the enemy of his power over San Diego, awakening the body of CHRIST to the FATHER’s love, and reaching the lost and perishing souls throughout the County.

Next year the 40 Days of HOPE begins on March 1 and ends on Palm Sunday, April 9, 2017. There are many on ramps to the 40 Days of HOPE where churches can get involved, from simply praying and/or fasting, joining a worship or outreach event, or hosting a prayer meeting to name a few. Let’s begin to plan for next year and expect a 10-fold increase of 500 congregations participating. Our main focus is for us to participate in the power of unity and to do what we all value, together. The theme verse for the 40 Days of HOPE is Psalms 133, “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! … For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.”
